Forest Lake is a quiet but growing town located about 25 mins. from Minneapolis and St. Paul. The main lake in Forest Lake is actually comprised of 3 connected lakes that make up Forest Lake. There are plenty of other recreational lakes nearby, like Clear Lake, Green Lake, Chisago Lake, Lindstrom Lake, and North and South Center lakes. It’s about a 20 min. drive to the Wisconsin border, to the beautiful, scenic St. Croix River Valley.
Forest Lake has a good mixture of really big, convenient stores like a Target and Mega Walmart, all the way down to a 300 sqaure foot chocolate truffle specialty shoppe. There’s a deluge of huge shops now opening on the west side of I-35, near the many car dealerships (some of which have recently been the victims of the financial crunch).
In cooperation with Washington County, Forest Lake has also been making substantial upgrades to it’s Interstate 35 freeway access.
